The home of Four Winds Cultural Guiding
Four Winds is a picturesque property that sprawls along an ancient granite ridge amongst the foothills of Dutchmans Stern in the heart of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. A mixture of Spinifex, Mallee, Inland Blue and River Red Gum country, the property overlooks the township of Quorn and the Willochra Plain and takes in breathtaking views of Devils Peak, Mt Brown, Dutchmans Stern and the magnificent indigo blue of the distant Wilpena Pound. Half of the property is protected natural bushland, running steeply down towards and overlooking the historic Pichi Richi Railway and the renowned steam trains that rumble by. The other half has been returned from cropping land to knee deep native grasses that keep a family of reformed brumbies fat, shiny and happy.
The extensive diversity of this property allows for a wide variety of cultural tours and experiences. It acts as a haven for an abundance of native bush tucker, bush medicine, plants and animals and other valuable cultural resources. It is the perfect setting for individuals who wish to experience a taste of the wild, the natural and the cultural.
The property is located 5 km south of Quorn, on the Quorn – Port Augusta Highway.
